The fighter drones scream in and pass overhead, strafing in the killbox, anything in the killbox has a chance to be hit. the strafing run can kill off infantry, destroy LAVs and damage or destroy heavier things like installations and tanks.

Bombing Run (Supercarrier)

The bombing run takes place much the same way as the fighter raid, but has a much greater chance of blowing the hell out of or severely damaging tanks and installations. because of the requirements and the fact that you need a supercarrier committed to topside this should be a rarer event., but far more damaging as the fighter-bombers pound the battlefield below them.

A Note: I realize that Supercarriers can field both Fighter and Fighter-Bomber drones,.

Be interesting if a way could be devised where some of the fighters could be shot down during their pass, but if not then a raid animation should be pretty damn cool.

But yeah, I think this would be a cool EVE-DUST integration point in addition to orbital bombardment.

As the OP was saying, that aircraft that we're going to be able to use are going to be far smaller than EVE fighter drones, and won't be able to use as heavy of weaponry as they're designed to be portable and stored in large numbers. Agreed, but I'm pretty sure we'll only be seeing EVE Fighter filling this role. Fighter bombers are in no way atmospheric, and as such would be useless for surface bombing runs.
